Earl Mansin: The Breakout - Free PC Game Review

Earl Mansin: The Breakout - Free PC Game Review - Free PC Gamers - Free PC GamesEarl Mansin is in jail, and he’s not the innocent type. He’s a serial killer who’s been on death row for 27 years. Convicted for 700 years in total, he must find a way to escape and the players are going to help him.

Earl Mansin: The Breakout is a free game for PC that has interface similarities with adventure classics like Sam & Max or Leisure Suit Larry. Right-click cycles through the different cursors (look, talk, walk and take) and the left-click uses the selected cursor. Our inventory is located on the bottom right corner and adequately named Loot, which fits perfectly with the theme of the game.

At first it may seem strange that Earl character model – and everything around him – is so big, but this is a choice that actually benefits the art style. It’s all very cartoon and colorful, although blood does get spilt in the game. Not to worry, nothing offensive or rude. There are a few cut scenes which are really nice, but some players may have problems watching them because of a required video codec.

Earl looks like a man sentenced to life, mean, dirty and a real scumbag. Good thing the voice actor does a perfect job in creating his spoken identity, talking like someone who’s dragging through life, one day at a time. Sound effects are also of good quality, from glass breaking and bar sawing, all accompanied by interesting music.

Earl Mansin: The Breakout is a great adventure, a bit short but very well designed. Earl deserves everyone’s attention and help to flee from his life sentence, but be warned: he may actually die during his escape!
